Well I never. Not that I didn't believe you or anything but I asked the all-knowing interweb deity Wiki and, lo and behold, he hath spoken thus "An aglet or aiglet is a small plastic or metal sheath typically found on the ends of shoelaces". Huh huh....he said sheath.
